Biomimetic Copper Forest Structural Modification Enhances the Capillary Flow Characteristics of the Copper Mesh Wick

In a two-phase heat transfer device, achieving high capillarity of the wick while reducing flow resistance within limited space becomes key to improving dissipation performance. As commonly used structure, mesh is widely employed because its permeability. However, desired capillary performance often requires multiple layers be superimposed ensure an adequate capillary, resulting in increased thickness wick. this study, ultra-thin biomimetic copper forest structural modification was performed using electrochemical deposition solve contradiction between permeability and capillary. The experiments were conducted on investigate effects various conditions their morphology results indicate that modified improves with longer time. pressure drops can reach up 1400 Pa when ethanol as working fluid. Furthermore, demonstrates value (ΔPc·K) 8.44 × 10−8 N, which 1.7 times higher than unmodified samples. Notably, enhanced achieved only 142 μm. limit 45 W 180 Microscopic analysis reveals structure maintains original providing greater force, thereby enhancing overall characteristics.
